The State of the Nation's Housing 2013

This report finds that the US housing market is recovering due to rising home prices & growing demand. Overall the sector is providing a boost to the economy. Driven by an increase of 1.1 million renter households, 2012 marked the second consecutive year of double-digit percentage increases in multifamily construction. Home ownership rates, on the other hand, fell for the eight straight year in 2012. The report also finds that the number of Americans spending more than half of their incomes on housing is at an all-time high.
